About Ray

After a profound and powerful spiritual awakening in 1986 from a descent of ‘light’ I began spiritual life and practices exploring the tri-unity of body-mind-spirit. In that awakening, I saw and experienced the interconnectedness of all things and actions, the great weave of life, and the truth that there is nothing accidental in creation.

Three years later this led to discovering the healing gift. Seeking a framework to develop and understand it I undertook a two-year training for a diploma in healing recognized by the British Council for Complementary Medicine, and have since practiced privately and in voluntary service throughout the world. I am also a Certified Hypnotherapist.

I began teaching workshops in 1991 in areas arising from my extensive experience in performing arts, dance and spiritual process and have since taught throughout Europe, Asia and in Australia and the USA. It is the integration of personal experience that gives the depth and ongoing development to this work.

Before leaving the UK in 1996 I was recognized as the country’s leading Butoh dancer by Time Out magazine, and completed an MA in Performing Arts.

In 1996 compelled by an intense inner call, I left England for India and spent the majority of time there until 2001. In Indian ashrams and Thai monasteries I dedicated myself to spiritual practices and study. Further revelation and insight in this period crystallized in the development of the Living Liberation teachings.

The majority of this time in India was spent in the presence of Mata Amritanandamayi “Amma” – an embodiment of the Divine Mother. In her ashram, with her blessing, I taught yoga and served as a healer.

I now live in Maui, Hawaii with my wife and sons. I am available to travel to teach the Living Liberation practices, and offer healing work remotely, please contact me to discuss options.
